Edgar Wright – Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (81%)

This week, we take a look at the lowest rated film on Edgar Wright’s Rotten Tomatoes listing: 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Currently at 81%(!), Scott Pilgrim stars Michael Cera as the titular “hero”, a young twenty-something who falls for a girl with several ex-lovers. And of course, he needs to fight them to win her over. Featuring frantic action and gorgeous visuals, Scott Pilgrim also features some mediocre scripting and some questionable choices. Clay and Wes discuss whether or not the film holds up, and they debate the merits of slut-shaming, how long ago something needs to be released to feel old, and the contemporaries of Edgar Wright!
