Ho Ho Ho! The Rotten Horror Picture Show is off of new episodes until January, so we thought this would be the perfect time to give you all a taste of what we’re doing over on Patreon! Here for your listening pleasure is the first episode of our 2022 series known as “The Second String of Stephen King,” where we tackle the lesser knowns and the also-rans of Stephen King adaptations. The Mike Dukakises of horror, if you will.
From Wikipedia:
It Chapter Two is a 2019 American supernatural horror film directed by Andy Muschietti, with a screenplay by Gary Dauberman. A follow-up to It (2017), it is the second of a two-part adaptation of the It by Stephen King, primarily covering the second half of the book. It stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. Set in 2016, 27 years after the events of the first film, the story centers on the Losers Club and their relationships as they reunite to destroy It once and for all.
Defeated by members of the Losers’ Club, the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have long since gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the shape-shifting Pennywise — now more powerful than ever.
Join Clay and Amanda as they travel to their childhood home to stop the evil of suicide for the good of the team, more endings than The Return of the King, the ritual of CHUD, gratuitous Angel of the Morning needle drop, and Bev’s dad holding down the questionable parenting fort!
So remember some repressed childhood trauma, drop your best homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing, and bully an ancient fear demon to death us…if you dare!
