The time has come, the boys of BATTASS have returned to officially kick off our coverage of season 2 of Batman Beyond! We take flight back to Neo Gotham with two monstrous tales of mutation, the season premier Splicers, and the Clayface-adjacent Earth Mover!

“Splicers” is the first episode of the second season of Batman Beyond. It depicts the trouble Gotham faces when a new fad arrives in the form of “Splicing”. After a scientist, Dr. Abel Cuvier, introduces a system of combining animal DNA with human DNA; it becomes a trend amongst the young people of Gotham. However, D.A. Sam Young works to outlaw the practice and is marked for death by Cuvier. Now Batman must deal with people enhanced with animal capabilities.
“Earth Mover” is the fifteenth episode of Batman Beyond. It depicts the emergence of a villain known only as the Earthmover. One of Terry’s friends, Jackie Wallace, continuously feels like she’s being watched and Terry soon comes across a man made entirely out of dirt. Things start getting worse as more and more of these dirt men start showing up. Soon, Terry learns that the real culprit is Jackie’s father, who is out to get his daughter back and revenge on Bill Wallace, who he blames for his condition. To save them both, Batman must face one of the most powerful beings he’s ever encountered.
We’re back on the Bat for season 2 of Batman Beyond, and off to a good start! Will this season keep the standard high? Or will it crash and burn? There’s only one way to find out!
