2019 Oscars: Bohemian Rhapsody (62%)

As a special event, we’re going to cover the “ripe” and “rotten” films nominated for the 2019 Best Picture Oscar! For the low end of the spectrum, we start with Bohemian Rhapsody, a biopic about the rock band Queen, and specifically its frontman Freddie Mercury.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the film is a rapid overview of the bands existence from 1970 to 1985. Rami Malak portrays Mercury in a performance that earned him a Best Actor nomination.

Wes and Clay discuss the issues with a length timeline, the novelty of Queen’s music, and truth versus dramatic license when producing a biopic!
