I was a feared pirate, known throughout the high seas for me fierce crew and me trusty wooden leg. ‘Twas a fateful night when the cursed fog rolled in, concealin’ our ship from the unsuspectin’ merchant vessel we aimed to plunder. But, alas, a treacherous soul crept among us, a dastardly mutineer who stole me prized wooden peg! As I fought to regain it, a thunderous crack of lightning rent the sky, and I found meself cast into the briny deep, to an eternal watery grave.

Now, as the ghostly specter of that fateful night, I’ve returned to haunt this very episode as The Rotten Horror Picture Show sets its sights on John Carpenter’s 1980 classic, The Fog. This eerie tale unfolds in the coastal town of Antonio Bay, where an accursed fog carries vengeful spirits that seek revenge on the town’s descendants. The film boasts Carpenter’s signature mastery of suspense and atmosphere, and it’s ripe for in-depth analysis.

Clay and Amanda, the scallywags hostin’ this podcast, they’ll be diggin’ deep into The Fog, explorin’ its eerie mood, unearthly apparitions, and the legacy of horror cinema that Carpenter has crafted. And while they share their insights and opinions, I’ll be watchin’ closely to see if any of them be harborin’ me treasured wooden leg.

So, listeners, prepare for a spine-chillin’ journey into the supernatural with The Rotten Horror Picture Show’s coverage of The Fog. And keep an eye out for a restless ghostly pirate – that’d be me – as I seek to lay claim to me stolen limb and enact a spectral vengeance on the swindler who dared pilfer it. Yarrr, ye be warned!
