46. The Platform (#175)

How many floors can there be?

It’s Halloween! Here, on a very special, extra episode of The Rotten Horror Picture Show, we’re giving you our Patreon Special from last year (2020), where we team up with Wes from the Pensky File to cover the claustrophobic, Spanish horror flick The Platform! It’s a poop-throwing good time, and a look into the kind of stuff we have featured on the Pensky File Patreon page.

The Platform is a story about a dystopian future where prisoners housed in vertical cells watch as inmates in the upper cells are fed while those below starve. There’s class struggle galore, as well as plenty of violence, distrust, and cannibalism as the prisoners finally decide to fight back against the imposed, randomized caste system they’re forced to exist in.

Join Clay and Amanda as they rattle the cage of poop throwing, food throwing, people throwing, cannibalism, and the ever-dependable questionable parenting. Even in a gloomy futuristic prison, there’s questionable parenting–who knew?

Not only does the Pensky File Patreon page house our continuing coverage of the Friday the 13th series, but it also features many other great podcasts from all our different shows and even some crossovers like the one you’re listening to today! From Star Trek, to horror movies, to sci-fi, to Batman to general content consumption chats, it’s a plethora of content that can keep you listening for hours and hours and hours and hours. If that’s your thing because you hate silence and can’t stand the feeling of being alone. It works for my dog, to keep him from getting too worked up and anxious when we go out at night–it can work for you too!

So stuff your face with some pastry while you can, figure out who to eat first when you must, and join us as we talk about The Platform…if you DARE!
