5. Starry Eyes (Wild Card)

Here on The Rotten Horror Picture Show, we love the Rotten Tomatoes 200 Best Horror Movies list, but we also love shaking things up, so every fifth episode we’ll be covering a movie selected by either Clay or Amanda which is NOT featured on the list! First up is the 2014 indie horror Starry Eyes! You’ve probably seen its awful poster floating around on your streaming service of choice, but we here at the Rotten Horror Picture Show are here to tell you it’s worth a watch, so check it out!

Starry Eyes tells the story of a hopeful young starlet who uncovers the ominous origins of the Hollywood elite and enters into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame and fortune. It’s a demon-cult, body-horror creep-fest, with just a hint of slasher-y blood and guts!

Join Clay, and Amanda as they get into the ins and outs of necrotic fingernail loss, cleavage-based franchise eateries, dumbell murder, how you should never go to a party with improv kids, the highs and lows of auditioning/the gig economy, when to realize you’re being a prick to your roommates, and just exactly how awkward it is walking home naked after digging your way out of a muddy grave/rebirthing chamber.

Starry Eyes is the first in our series of wild card picks, and it’s a great hidden gem! With everyone isolating themselves in this tense time, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on your horror podcasts, so curl up on your couch and socially distance yourself with this episode of The Rotten Horror Picture Show
